Virginia Sapp

Virginia Sapp is a multidisciplinary artist, art historian, and business owner with a passion for blending historical influences with fantasy and fairytale themes through contemporary designs and fashions. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Temple University, she has built a diverse career spanning in museum management, gallery operations, community arts engagement, and developing her own brand, Velour Verbena.

Virginia has worked internationally as an AP Art History teacher in Rome, Italy, served as a Museum Assistant for the Burlington County Division of Parks in New Jersey, and currently works in education and manages her own business. Since 2016, her work has been exhibited in galleries across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and she maintains a successful online presence and shop.

I work in a range of mediums from ink, watercolor, clay, metal, fabric, digital design, and film photography. I like to incorporate organic and nonconventional materials into my work, as I believe art making goes beyond the limitations of traditional theories. Much of my work is functional, as my sculptures can be used as wall hangings or hold trinkets and treasures. My jewelry evokes aesthetics that goes beyond contemporary ideals.

My art reflects who I am. Each drawing, sculpture, or jewelry piece holds a little piece of me. I put my heart into every work that I create. I hope to evoke the same amount of joy that I find in my creations in the ones who experience it. This is why I do what I do
